Facial Cupping

Facial cupping uses the same principles as body cupping, negative pressure to lift the tissue and stimulate blood flow, although the cups used for facial cupping are much smaller and gentler. Facial cupping encourages collagen production and can temporarily reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Facial cupping is also perfect for decreasing muscle tension in the face and neck, which can cause headaches and TMJ dysfunction.

So, like, how does it work?

Facial cupping can be booked as an add-on to any massage. I also offer a stand alone 45min face, scalp, and neck focused session: Face Cupping Deluxe.

I use Prickly Pear Seed Oil for all facial cupping at Kneady Cat. It is a cold pressed, organic, non-comedogenic, earthy oil made for the face. tbh I hate almost every facial oil because I have very oily skin on my face, but this Prickly Pear Seed Oil never breaks me out. I love it.

Negative pressure with these small cups is light but effective! While the chances of leaving marks are very low, it is still possible. So far no one has left my office with marks on their face, but if you are practicing at home, be careful not to over cup. Sometimes it just feels so good it can be hard to stop, but the marks will absolutely fade with time!

I first learned facial cupping from an ICTA cupping class in 2019. In 2023 I took another specialized class where I found the oil and a new set of cups that I really love working with. Shout out to the Facial Cupping Expert, Sakina Di Pace.

Facial cupping is safe for most clients and can help with sinus pressure, puffy face, headaches, & tension from jaw clenching. If you have received Botox or fillers, facial cupping cannot be performed on those areas, as the suction could move those solutions around.

If you would like to have your own set up facial cups at home, you can get 10% off your order thru my affiliate link using code KNEADY10. Even though I would love to see my face cupping clients multiple times a week, that just is not possible for most people. If you’re wanting to decrease fine lines or depuff on the regular, I would recommend getting a set for yourself. Each set comes with instructions and a protocol for you to reference while you get the feel for it. To maintain results, you do need to consistently practice a few times a week. If you have the time and energy, regular face cupping can be great for your skin and helps keep the tension headaches in check, in my experience. Great for morning, night time, or anytime of day.
